Spencer's EEG

Last Monday Spencer had to have a 24 hour EEG at Children's to rule out any mini-seizures. He & I went to Little Rock Monday morning and stayed that night. He was such a big boy. Getting all of the EEG leads on was very hard for him. It took about 20 minutes or so and he cried and screamed the whole time. I was on his bed holding his legs and arms down. At one point he looked right into my eyes, stopped screaming and said please, stop, please and kept saying it until he realized I wouldn't help him. That moment was one of the hardest moments of my life this far. He has never been in a situation that he had to call on me like that. Then to not be able to do anything, I was one of the ones holding him down. I was so sad, like he felt like he couldn't count on me....I was helping hurt him. Not fun! It was sensory overload for him and I couldn't do anything for him. I wanted to be so strong and I was being strong until he said that, then I just started crying all over him. Bless his little heart, I am sure that did not help him. But once that was over he was fine. He almost instantly fell asleep from exhaustion I guess. When he woke up he was very hungry so he ate and watched the Bee Movie. The TV had a bunch of movies programed in it. That was wonderful and he got room service, anything..anytime. So he ate like a king while he was there. The good news is he is not having seizures. The neurologist did recommend him to have a MRI to cover all our bases. That will be some time before the end of the year but I pray he never has to have another EEG. He is a really good boy.

He is so precious and adorable here.

He just wanted me to take a picture of his bandaid.

Spencer is so dang sweet here. He certainly has Michael and Papa's chin.

Maplewood Pictures

As most of you know, we have taken pictures at Maplewood Cemetery every fall for the last 6 years. It can be a little creepy if you let it but fall is our favorite time of year and it is so beautiful there this time of year, obviously. Some of these pictures are kind of blurry but you get the gist.

I try to avoid pictures of myself but this was one post that I really couldn't since I am in several pictures with at least one of my three favorite guys.

Oh, so cute.

Tackle time!

I love how Lynden is looking up at Spencer.

One of my favorites.

I can't believe how big Bubbers is getting.

It is quiet possible that I have two of the most handsome boys in the world.

"Hey Mom, look, a camera.....right there!"

Lynden was a little bit nervous up here.

What a cutie

Aaahhh, Spencer is still such a Daddy's boy.

Michael was tickling Spencer here. He kept saying "Hey Daddy, tickle my goozle!" He says that all the time. It is so adorable. Judy taught him to say that because that is what they always called it growing up. It is so cute to hear him say, plus it has caused him to give his "tickle my boobies" bit a break, which is what we were hoping for. I am very thankful for that. Hope all is well, have a good weekend.

Lynden is such a big boy now. He sleeps in his big boy bed in Spencer's room. He only goes in his room for toys. He has been in the big bed for about a month, I am just now getting around to blogging it. He did really great the first two days - 2 naps & 2 night times - I layed him down and he never got up. I was so proud of him so of course I started bragging like crazy. Well, as luck would have it, he literally got up about 7 times the 3rd night at bedtime. I had totally ginxed it. But, I kept putting him back in the bed and he has done great every since....well, for the most part. He does sleep better than ever but if he wakes up, he usually winds up in our bed - usually early morning. I am ok with that. He is so sweet, they both are. Spencer still asks to sleep in our bed sometimes and I usually let. He is so sweet to snuggle with. I know these days will end so why not enjoy those precious snuggles while I can.

To the Dentist

Spencer had a dentist appointment in Fayetteville the other day and I wanted to post how cool the Dr.'s office was. It is totally Nemo"ed" out! I love it.

There are some of the seats in the waiting room.

Everything in this fish tank is alive. I could have watched it for hours. It had fish in there exactly like all the fish in the tank on Finding Nemo, plus Marlin and Dory. It was so darn cool.

A bunch of the character hang from the ceiling.

I love taking my kids places that really make the kids enjoy visiting and actually having things for them to play with besides just a book or a lego.
AR Children's Hospital

Spencer had an appointment at Children's Monday. They have a huge fenced in area in the front of the main hospital with all these cool toys and pretty waterfalls. The inside waiting room is really cool too, we just didn't play in there. Great photo opportunities.

The other half of this train was inside...too cool!

Spencer loved getting his picture taken with the dinosaur.

Okay, there is a small chance I got carried away with pictures of Spencer on this rock, poor kid.

Lynden was scared when I put him up on the rock. That really wrecked my scrapbook idea. It was very hard to catch him. I think he ran non stop the entire hour we were out there (as you may be able to tell in the 3rd picture down). It was really exciting for them... ok... and us... ok... me.

This was shaping up to be a good chance for a really nice picture when right after I snapped, Spencer for some reason threw up all over his shorts. All we could figure was that he was car sick from the ride over but I don't know. Anyway, hints the next picture. We took Spencer in to eat lunch in his underwear. I dared someone to say something to me.

Starting to get a wee bit sleepy.
